Let’s Taste Canada! Our Food Adventure… was born from the simple love and curiosity of FOOD, PEOPLE and CANADA! What`s better eh?
Let’s Taste Canada is a tasty food adventure to explore, celebrate, laugh, and learn together about Canadians, food, food security, the food system and (maybe) life through the eyes of an open-minded foodie, food advocate, & dietitian.
I am so excited to be editing 60+ podcasts based on interviews from food experts by either profession or lived experience to share with you!
Let’s chat by subscribing and sharing to this blog, liking our Facebook page & connecting on Instagram! This is OUR food adventure so I am so looking forward to hearing your reflections!
I’d love to hear from you – stories, questions, life experiences, professional and personal expertise are all welcome.
Let’s chat about what we eat:
Let us know about the cool breakfast you had this morning, why you didn’t eat breakfast or what your favourite food memory is!
Let’s chat about why we eat:
What is your relationship to food? What is Canada’s relationship with food?
Let’s chat about the big picture:
What about the food system? How can we improve it? How can we create and support food security initiatives, policies and projects?
Together, we will learn about feasting, food producing (foraging, farming), regional dishes, local food, food culture, food access, food security, food systems and friendship from our fellow Canadians.
So – Let’s Taste Canada! This is Our Food Adventure 🙂
Welcome to the community!
Much Love,
Irena
If I were to be a food I’d be the most sustainable, healthy chocolate found on our beautiful mother earth.
If I were a food, I’d be a pomegranate. I love the colour of the fruit, and i had a very ripe one recently and it was so delicious. I like that it is a very ancient fruit, originating in Persia, the cradle of cultivation. Lastly I love that it has traditional uses in ayurvedic medicine, where the whole fruit is used for a variety of purposes – seed , rind and even the bark of the tree that grows the fruit. Pomegranate.
If I were a food I would be a passion fruit. It’s bright and delicious but also weird and kind of finicky, and a bit alien like on the inside 😀
If I were a food I’d be tomatoes – they grow around the world, hundreds of varieties, declicious cooked or raw, and a little mysterious … are they a fruit or a vegetable – it’s endlessly debatable 🙂
a chickpea – grown in Canada – goes with any flavour, a staple
I think I would be a potato. Common, utilitarian, versatile, can grow almost anywhere and tastes everything from yummy to bland.
