Hello Tasters! I wanted to let you know about a cool event coming up! The BC Produce Marketing Association (BCPMA) and the BC Chefs Association co-hosts the Annual Healthy Chef Competition & Gala (#bchc17). The event supports several charities along with a scholarship for chefs.
Chefs can sign up to compete here.
Tickets for the event available here are $90 for taxes, service charges, appetizers, dinner, dessert, festivities and “swag box” at the end of the night.

The winner must have at least “half your plate” veggies. There is a silent & live auction, table showcases, DJ music, presentations and entertainers but best of all there is a mystery envelope with your meal at your table. New this year is a consumer recipe contest and childrens’ entree trophy.
The event runs from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Vancouver.

Each guest has an envelope with a ‘surprise’ entree. Last year my entree ihappened to be the winning plate. Of course, if you are lucky, those at your table might be willing to let you taste theirs as well 🙂
